European Chapters Meeting 2019

The Internet Society organized the 2019 European Chapters Meeting in Bucharest, Romania, on 9-10 May 2019. SEEDIG is an open, inclusive and informal space for dialogue on Internet governance issues between stakeholders from South Eastern Europe and the neighbouring area. SEEDIG is a sub-regional Internet Governance Forum (IGF) initiative, recognised as such by the global IGF. The 5th annual SEEDIG took place on 7-8 May in Bucharest, Romania. Participation to the Armenian General Benevolent Union Seminar

I.Mkrtumyan took part in the seminar organized by the Armenian General Benevolent Union, devoted to the problems of: – Reducing poverty in vulnerable groups (elderly, persons with disabilities, children, single mothers); – Ensuring employment of uncompetitive people in the labor market, social enterprises. The aim of participation was the development of a proposal aimed to teach vulnerable groups to use Internet to earn money on-line.

Girls in ICT Day: Cyber Hygiene

International Girls in ICT Day is one of the ITU – the UN specialized agency for information and communication technologies events, this year was celebrated on 25 April, 2019. For this day, Internet Society Armenia Chapter organized an informative seminar on Cyber Hygiene or how to stay Safe in the Internet. The seminar took place at the N.174 school of Yerevan, Armenia. The event hosted schoolgirls, their mothers and teachers to get informed about Internet Security issues and principles. The head of UCOM Information Security Department Karen Gasparyan was the guest speaker representing the most common cyber attacks, dangers, issues and solutions for avoiding them and staying safe. Young participants were active in their questions.
