February 25, 2021. Accessibility SIG. ISOC Armenia Chapter took part in the joint meeting with the  Internet Society Accessibility Special Interest Group (Accessibility SIG) with the theme “Accessibility Challenges: A conversation with ISOC Armenia”. ISOC Armenia has been working on accessibility issues for several years now and has won several grants to do some amazing work with people with disabilities
1. Internet Availability Center of Blind and Visually Impaired People
2. Internet Radio for People with Visual Impairments
3. A tool for children with autism and social anxiety to solve the communication problem
4. Let’s talk: Talking application for non-verbal individuals

November 11, 2020. Lisbon, Prtugal. Igor Mkrtumyan took part in the Portugese Chapter workshop on Internet Security and Trust.

October 5-7, 2020. Yerevan, Armenia. Armenia Chapter representatives, Igor Mkrtumyan and Anna Karakhanyan participated in the 2020 European Chapters Workshop. May 20, 2020. Global ISOC Office. Armenia Chapter members Igor Mkrtumyan, Lianna Galstyan, and Valery Stepanyn took part in the second quarter European Chapters Call with the topics: “Update on MANRS (Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security); a presentation on ISOC 2019 Impact Report; a report from ISOC Chapter Advisory Council Steering Committee; and a presentation on Encryption with the launch of the global coalition”.

May 7, 2020. Global ISOC office. Armenia Chapter members Anna Karakhanyan, Lianna Galstyan, and Katarina Gevorgyan took part  in the ISOC call “Privacy issues in the aftermath of Covid-19”, focused on issues relating to privacy, security, trust, and the technical solutions being proposed for tracking and tracing Covid-19 contagion.

23 April, Yerevan. The Internet Society Armenia Chapter in collaboration with the Internet Society NGO for the 3-rd year organized an online webinar on “Girls in ICT” international day. This global event is an initiative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to promote women’s involvement in ICT. This year’s event has an overarching theme of “Overcoming Digital Challenges.”

60 participants of different age joined the 2-hour webinar, followed by an hour networking. A special guest – ITU’s Communication Development Bureau Director Ms. Doreen Bogdan-Martin attended the event and made a keynote speech encouraging women’s involvement in ICT. The webinar covered 2 topics: education and digital marketing. The invited experts spoke about the digital, educational and business challenges created by COVID-19 and presented the technologies and digital tools that can be used to overcome these challenges.
