What Future Should Regional Libraries Have, and How Can Their “Second Life” Be Secured in the Digital Age?

Ahead of Book Day, Vesmira Harutyunyan, Board Chair of the Internet Society Armenia Chapter PO and Tigran Zargaryan, Coordinator of the “Digital Development of Libraries: Internet Access Centers in Communities” program, appeared as guests on the “Kentroni Aravoty” morning program, where they presented our vision and ongoing initiatives.

Our goal has been to strengthen regional libraries by transforming them into modern community-based internet access centers.

The program currently covers three regions:

  • Lori – 14 libraries
  • Kotayk – 16 libraries
  • Syunik – 15 libraries

Implementation in Syunik is still ongoing.

Our initiatives are implemented with the financial support of the Internet Society and the Internet Society Foundation.
