Igor Mkrtumyan (Organization President)
Igor Mkrtumyan is the President of the “Internet Society” NGO since 2000. For several years he held the position of the Head of Computer Department at American University of Armenia as well as the Head of a Department at Yerevan Institute of Mathematical Machines.
Mr. Mkrtumyan is one of the pioneers of establishing Internet in Armenia and has made an immense contribution to its development within the country, as well to the launch of Armenian ccTLD .am and .հայ.
Vesmira Harutyunyan has been working at Internet Technologies Center LLC since 2014. She is a founding member of the Internet Society Armenia Chapter Public Organization and its Secretary since 2018.
Vesmira actively participates in the organizational work of the events initiated and implemented by the organization.
Narine Derdzakyan has many years of work experience in the Domain Name Industry. Since 2003 she has been working at the Internet Technology Center LLC as a Chief Accountant.
She has been a member of the “Internet Society” NGO since 2003. Ms. Derdzakyan is a founding member of the Internet Society Armenia Chapter and works as the accountant of the organization.
She participates in the organization of events initiated and implemented by the Chapter.
Armen Muradyan makes a substantial contribution to the innovative growth of the Ejmiatsin city and its surrounding areas. He also gives education, children’s online safety, and the creation of start-up businesses in areas a great deal of attention and assistance.
He was elected as a RIPE NCC Fellow and took part in a number of regional and European forums. In 2015 he hosted the first RIPE NCC regional meeting in Armenia, the Eurasian Network Operators Group Forum, and served as the gold sponsor of ENOG 12.

Anna Karakhanyan is an administrator of the Armenian Network Information Center (AMNIC), which is the ccTLD Registry of “.am” and “.հայ”. She also has a huge experience in the Registry/Registrar relations and management of domain registrations. Anna worked at one of the first Internet Service provider company in Armenia – ARMINCO, since its establishment (1992). Anna also was Armenian main coordinator of the Three Pomegranates Network Project. She has been an active volunteer with CYSCA-Cambridge Yerevan Sister City Association (USA) and board member of YCSCA-Yerevan Cambridge Sister City Association (Armenia) since 1998.
Mr. Hrachya Astsatryan is the Head of the Scientific Computing Center of the Institute for Informatics and Automation Problems of NAS RA. After receiving his PhD in 2001 in IIAP, he holds doctoral fellowship at the KFKI Research Institute for Particle and Nuclear Physics, Budapest, Hungary (2005-2006) and postdoctoral fellowship at the Institute de Recherche en Informatique de Toulouse, Toulouse, France (2006-2007). In 2005, Hrachya was awarded by the President of the Republic of Armenia for the best work in Technical Sciences and Information Technologies. Now he is the National Contact Point from Armenia for Research Infrastructures in Horizon 2020.
Vahe Tadevosyan is a student at the Russian Armenian University’s Chair of Political Science.
In 2020-2022 served in the Armenian-Russian Border Guard.
Fluent in English, Russian, and Armenian.
He is currently learning Zulu.
He has organized community and student social initiatives and participated in dance ensembles.

Karen Yerznkanyan in 1994-2018 was a member of the board of the “Internet Society” NGO. For many years he worked at the Institute of Radiophysics and Electronics of the National Academy of Sciences as a researcher, then, working for 13 years in the financial sphere of the Republic of Armenia, as a head of the information technology infrastructure.
Since 2014, Karen Yerznkanyan has been the president of the “Smart City Community Development Innovation Center” NGO. He currently heads the IT department of the Armenian Stock Exchange and the Central Depository of Armenia.
Katarina Gevorgyan has been involved in the domain name registration business since 2015 and is an ISOC Armenia member.
In 2017-2019 worked as director at «Regnest» company. She actively participates in different local and international forums and meetings. In 2019 she was selected as a fellow for ICANN (www.icann.org) Fellowship and NASIG (North American Internet Governance School) programs.
As well as, she participated as a trainee in «Shaping the Internet» and «Encryption» training organized by the Internet Society. Katarina is involved in several working groups on a volunteer basis (Universal Acceptance, At-Large Social Media Working Groups).
Now she works at «Global AM» domain registrar company.
Kristina Hakobyan started her career in the field of domain name registration in 2010. She played an important role in the development of several registrar companies. Since 2015, she has participated in many local and international events, as well as co-organized different internet related events (ArmSIG, N2Forum, Girls in ICT).
Starting from 2019, she is a Board member of Internet Society NGO and an advisor to the Representation of Armenia in the Governmental Advisory Committee (GAC) of ICANN. Currently she works at the Internet Technology Center LLC as a Head of Staff.
