One of the most efficient methods for securing broadband Internet access in the modern day is the expansion of community networks.
The European Communication Summit, which took place in Yerevan on June 6 and 7, covered the broad financial, cooperative, technical structures and ways of its maximum use.
At the summit, titled “”Ensuring Accessibility for all: Europe and beyond,”” telecommunications experts from four countries discussed the value of broadband Internet as a tool for education and development.
At the summit, Igor Mkrtumyan who is the Chair of the board of the “”Internet Society”” NGO, and the president of the “”Internet Society Armenia chapter”” NGO was recognized for their contributions to providing the availability of broadband Internet.
The award created by Global ISOC was given to Igor Mkrtumyan.
“”It will be effective to first identify and educate people who are willing to be leaders in the communities, and then to provide the community with the Internet, in order to expand community networks. Igor Mkrtumyan remarked upon accepting the award, “”In that situation, the community will transform from a consumer of a media product into a user of the Internet for the development of the community, a product producer.
