Three libraries in Lori region-Spitak City Library, Lori Regional Library, and Vanadzor Central Library System-have recently been equipped with four additional computers each.
“The availability of computers and Internet access has enabled us to organize our work with branches and visitors more effectively. These are crucial factors in expanding our circle of readers, made possible by the “Internet Society Armenia Chapter” PO, said Mane Muradyan, director of “Vanadzor Centralized System of Libraries” CNPO.
The library digitization and technical re-equipment programs are being implemented by the Internet Society Armenia Chapter PO, with support from the Internet Society Foundation (ISF).
The goal is to modernize libraries by transforming them into community internet centers, providing residents of the regions with opportunities to access educational resources online.
In addition to providing computers, the programs also include broadband internet access, the installation of WiFi routers, the implementation of electronic library management systems, and staff training courses.
As part of the project, the Internet Society Armenia Chapter PO has already collaborated with 14 libraries in Lori region. Work is currently underway in 15 libraries in Kotayk region, and in Syunik region, it will commence in October 2025 and be completed within a year.
