From Digital Wallets to Crypto: YouthIGF Armenia 2025

In today’s digital world, money is online, wallets are virtual, and transactions move across borders instantly free from time zones and geographic barriers.

On November 20, the Armenian Youth Forum on Internet Governance, YouthIGF Armenia 2025, was held in Yerevan. The event, titled “Digital Finance: Risks and Opportunities,” was organized by the “Internet Society” and “Internet Society Armenia Chapter” NGOs.

“Our mission is to create an environment where young people can gain a deep understanding of global Internet governance processes and become active participants in shaping their development,” said Elena Harutyunyan, Coordinator of YouthIGF Armenia.

The forum featured four expert speakers, each addressing a key topic in the rapidly evolving field of digital finance. They discussed the latest advancements in digital financial services, emerging opportunities, and the cybersecurity challenges accompanying this new digital landscape.

The sessions included:

  • “Your Finances on Your Phone: Digital Banks and Wallets”
    Armen Virabyan, CFO, Easy Pay
  • “Digital Currencies: Crypto – The New World of New Money”
    Eduard Avetisyan, Founder, Bitcoin Armenia
  • “Cybersecurity in Digital Finance: Protecting Yourself from New Threats”
Vigen Arushanyan, Founder, Coinplus Crypto Wallet
  • “Dedicate Time to Your Best Investors”
Gurgen Ayvazyan, Chief Financial Markets Analyst, Ameriabank

More than 70 students participated, representing National Polytechnic University of Armenia, Armenian National Agrarian University, European University of Armenia, Brusov State University and Ararat and Echmiadzin State College after V. Hamazaspyan.
