ArmSIG-2024 was held in Armavir on September 25 and 26, under the theme “Internet and New Developments: Labor Market Trends.” Last year, the event took place in Spitak.
The goal of the initiative is to enhance digital literacy and information security, particularly among the community and the population in the regions. As part of this educational program, renowned specialists and experts from Armenia and abroad presented to approximately 50 residents of Armavir on various developments on Internet governance, international scholarship opportunities in the IT sector, and the process of participating in local and global conferences.
“By educating the public on the fundamentals of cybersecurity and personal data protection, we aim to make people’s online presence more effective and secure. We demonstrate the potential for purposeful use of digital resources,” said Vesmira Harutyunyan, Board Chair of the “Internet Society Armenia Chapter” PO.
In 2017, Armenia, represented by the “Internet Society Armenia Chapter” PO, joined the global initiative of Schools on Internet Governance (SIG). Since then, ArmSIG has been organized for the 8th time with the support of the “Internet Society” NGO. To date, the school has hosted over 300 participants from various professional and age groups.
