“Small and Big Conversations”: Father and Daughter Featured in the New Episode of the “Unseen” Podcast

The fourth episode of the “Unseen” podcast, a project dedicated to promoting media inclusion for people with visual impairments, features a heartfelt conversation between father and daughter Andranik and Nare Kocharyan. Together, they discuss family life, shared activities, children’s free time and the experience of growing up with a parent who has a disability.

Hosted by Andranik Kocharyan, the episode gives the floor to his 9 year old daughter Nare, who talks about her favorite hobbies, including singing, drawing and reading. She also highlights the importance of balancing activities and rest in children’s lives, noting that while children should stay engaged, they also need enough time for relaxation and the things they truly enjoy.

For Andranik Kocharyan, the episode is also deeply personal. He shares that he had long dreamed of recording a podcast with his daughter, and the “Unseen” project finally made that idea possible. The family says they may continue the format in the future, potentially turning it into a family podcast with the participation of Nare’s mother as well.

The “Unseen” podcast is produced at the initiative of the “Internet Society” NGO in cooperation with the Socrat Shahnazaryan Cultural House of the Armenian Union of the Blind, under the coordination of podcaster Kristian Ginosyan. The project aims to strengthen media skills and create new opportunities for people with visual impairments in the media field.

The initiative is implemented through cooperation between the “Internet Society” NGO and the “Internet Society Armenia Chapter” PO. In 2024, with support from the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), the recording studio of “Merq” internet radio was upgraded with modern equipment, providing improved conditions for the creation of media content.
