This year marks the 30th anniversary of the creation of Armenia’s national domain, .am, and the introduction of the Internet to Armenia. To commemorate this milestone, Internet Society NGO, as the initiator and implementer of this landmark achievement, showcased the decades-long journey through the documentary film “Our Space on the Internet: .am30”.
The 30-minute film highlights the key historical moments that positioned Armenia as a participant in technological progress, serving as a unique chronicle of the establishment of the Internet and the .am.
The film’s heroes are dedicated individuals who laid the foundation for our country’s online presence and opportunities, along with the professionals who joined them over time. They share their memories, reflecting not only the emotional and factual journey of creating and developing .am and the spread of the Internet but also the challenges faced during some of Armenia’s most difficult years.
“Our Space on the Internet: .am30” traces the journey of overcoming challenges and achieving milestones while charting a path forward to strengthen and expand Armenia’s presence in the digital world.
