The protection of personal data (PD) is more important than ever in the digital age, as technological advancements create new opportunities for both its compromise and its protection.
The fundamental principles of IT protection were presented during a training course held in Jermuk on April 26, as part of the international “Girls in ICT” campaign.
According to cybersecurity expert Alexey Chalabyan, having a long and complex password is a necessary – but not sufficient – measure for ensuring security in the digital space.
“This is the minimum required to keep bank accounts, social media, email and other accounts secure,” Chalabyan emphasized.
Any information that can directly or indirectly identify an individual is considered personal data. According to personal data protection expert Gevorg Hayrapetyan, although the definition is clear, types of information technologies are evolving alongside technological progress, which means protection methods must be continuously reviewed and strengthened.
The use of any artificial intelligence tool should also be considered from the perspective of IT security, and when sharing information, one should avoid disclosing full personal data such as name, surname and position.
“In addition to legislative regulation, data protection also requires a responsible individual approach from each person. Regardless of the systems and technical solutions in place, we must take personal responsibility and be at the forefront of protecting our own data,” Hayrapetyan noted.
